George Loewenstein is a Professor of Economics and Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University. He is one of the founders of Behavioral Economics and Neuroeconomics, and an originator, but currently a critic, of an approach to public policy known as "Nudge." His current research focuses include attention, information avoidance, curiosity, boredom, the role of emotions in economic behavior and when and why we care about what goes on in other people's minds.
